Dr. Emily Dolan is one of the newest faculty members at Slippery Rock University, currently as an Assistant Professor of Communication. While Dr. Dolan just began teaching at Slippery Rock in Fall of 2018, SRU is no stranger to her. Dr. Dolan received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Slippery Rock. She then went to receive her masters from Syracuse University and then to the State University of New York at Buffalo where she received her doctorate in communications.
Whether you are a communication student considering working in academia or not, I believe Dr. Dolan is an inspiration for all students at Slippery Rock and beyond. At just 31, she has worked endlessly and relentlessly to reach her goals to teach and research. She has completed research on message processing and the effects of interpersonal and mass mediated messages. She has been featured in numerous scholarly journals including Media Psychology and Social Influence.
Currently, Dr. Dolan teaches the areas of persuasion, interpersonal communication and communication theory. A biography on Dr. Dolan would fit all the areas of newsworthiness.
